Concrete tiles form an indoor landscape in Aspen, a town where landscapes rule supreme.

Green pavers are spread throughout the space, lifting and folding to create slopes, ridges, and plateaus — offering places to sit, browse, gather, or climb.

The store is located in a visibly “added on” extension to a 1980s brick office building.

Cork wall tiles bring the materiality of the original building’s exterior down into the space, making the newly inserted terrain feel as though it sits against the outside of a building, instead of within one.

Custom furniture and fixtures populate the “landscape”.

Referencing works by Isamu Noguchi, such as “Heaven” and “California Scenario”, the store is designed as a suggestion rather than a prescription. Instead of defining a fixed function, each element is part of a larger playscape, characterized by how it is used, and can change based on the person or product that uses it.
